A leader, visionary, and entrepreneur, Reverend Tameka Shelone serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Tameka Shelone Ministries & Enterprises, LLC, where she integrates her Christian faith with her professional coaching, counseling, and consulting services. As a certified trauma support specialist and mental health advocate, Tameka uses her voice to bring awareness to mental health in an effort to reduce the stigma in the African American community.
Tameka is driven by her passion and purpose to empower, educate, and equip women to live their best lives spiritually, personally, and professionally. Through her ministry gifts of prayer, preaching, and teaching, she is fulfilling her mission by spreading the Gospel, sharing God’s love, and making a global impact.
Tameka’s testimony of survival from relational trauma and her personal healing journey led her to discover a greater call to soul work, inner healing for women. Affectionally known as “The Soul PractitionHer,” Tameka equips women with the necessary tools to help them heal their M.E.S.S. (Mind, Emotions, Spirit, Soul) and break free from the emotional bondage of their past. On this journey, women find inner peace and freedom, reclaiming their lives, rediscovering their power and voice, and returning to a healthy sense of self.
As a dynamic speaker, Tameka motivates and empowers audiences with her powerful and heartfelt words of inspiration and hope. Listeners are captivated through her relevant, relatable, transparent, and thought-provoking messages. Tameka has been the featured speaker for women’s conferences and events, public school graduations, and local universities.
Tameka is a graduate of Bowie State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and Liberty University with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling. After receiving her ministerial license in 2007, she pursued ministry training from Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology.
Tameka began her career as an educator in the District of Columbia Public School System. She later transitioned to a professional leadership role with the Washington Teacher’s Union. For the past 10 years, Tameka has worked in the private sector as a leader in association management.
Tameka has received numerous recognitions and awards over the years, to include New Teacher of the Year for the District of Columbia Public Schools (2000) and the Soul Wealth Torch Award (2017) for her service and excellence in ministry from Dr. Vikki Johnson’s Soul Wealth Academy.
From Trauma to Triumph: Healing the Unspoken Wounds, Tameka’s debut body of work, is set to release May 2021. Along with her co-host, she recently launched the Butterfly Xchange podcast.
When she’s not serving in ministry and the marketplace, you can find Tameka replenishing and caring for her soul on quiet walks, journaling, mindfulness meditation, connecting with nature, and traveling. Spending time with her family, sharing uncontrollable laughs and spreading unconditional love, brings her joy.
