TAMEKA SHELONE


Tameka is an ordained minister, coach, counselor, consultant, speaker, and entrepreneur. She is a certified trauma support specialist and mental health first aider. As a mental health advocate, she uses her voice to bring awareness to mental health and reduce the stigma in the African American community.

Tameka preached her initial sermon in December 2006 at Carolina Missionary Baptist Church, and shortly afterwards received her ministerial license.  After licensure, she began pursuing her Master of Divinity from Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology. She was ordained in July 2020 by the Christian Leadership Alliance. Tameka is a member of Alfred Street Baptist Church.

Tameka is the Chief Executive Officer of Tameka Shelone Ministries & Enterprises, LLC and Brown & Brown Publishing, LLC. Through her coaching and counseling practice, she provides services to women and couples. She helps women heal from relational trauma and return to a healthy sense of self. Through her own testimony of surviving and healing from relational trauma, she discovered a greater call, passion, and purpose as a healer though the work of the soul. She is affectionately known as the “Soul PractitionHer.” Tameka also works with couples to help build healthy relationships and successful marriages. 

Weekly, Tameka uses her ministry gifts of prayer, preaching, and teaching to minister to the masses. Tameka Shelone Ministries was launched April 2013. In January 2019, she launched the Abundant Life Broadcast on WBGR. She has been leading her weekly Morning Glory prayer call for over 15 years. She launched The Women’s Connection, a virtual women’s ministry, in 2020. Tameka’s purpose is to empower, encourage, and equip women to live their best lives, spiritually, personally, and professionally. Her mission is advance the Kingdom and make a global impact.

Tameka received her bachelor of science degree in communications from Bowie State University, and her master of arts degree in human services counseling from Liberty University.

In 2017, Tameka was awarded the 2017 Soul Wealth Torch Award for her service and excellence in ministry by Dr. Vikki Johnson of Soul Wealth Academy and Authentic Living Enterprises. 

Tameka will release her debut book, From Trauma to Triumph: Healing the Unspoken Wounds, May 2021. In this book, she shares her story of survival from relational trauma and provides a roadmap to healing and recovery. On March 4, 2021, along with her co-host, she launched the Butterfly Xchange Podcast.

Tameka is a native Washingtonian, currently residing in “Gorgeous Prince Georges” Maryland.
